Porto, perhaps? or the "green coast" - "costa verde" - ? or the "green wine" - "vinho verde" - ? the typical wine of this region, fascinating with its "Spritzigkeit",
and the people of this region fascinating with its frankness and kindness.

And exactly in this region the company ORGUIAN Lda. looked for its seat and found it between the cities Vila Nova de Famalicao and Santo Tirso.

Near to the highway Porto - Braga, it is easy to reach and, nevertheless, situated in a nice landscape, opposite to a large wine farm.

George Jann

From 1974 to 1995 he managed his firm, the "Georg Jann Orgelbau Meisterbetrieb" in Allkofen, near to Regensburg. Than he transfered the original seat to his son Thomas and left the organpipes-workshop with him to Portugal.
Why? Organpipes are made in handwork and so it is cheaper to produce the pipes in Portugal, where there is a lower wage-level than in Germany till today!
And the workshop in Portugal, that began its activities with three employees in rented rooms, today has its own rooms and, enploying 30 workers, is becoming an efficient and world-wide supplier of organpipes.
